Position Overview:
Gryphon Wealth oversees $1.8 billion in assets. The majority of those assets are managed by a small team that prioritizes independence of thought and long-term thinking. The Investment Analyst is integral and works closely with the lead portfolio manager.
The Investment Analyst role at Gryphon Wealth is for people that enjoy solving puzzles and spending their days seeking the true nature of things, whilst the rest of the world follows the herd and concerns themselves with what everyone else is doing.
It requires a person that can unemotionally work in solitude for long stretches, has excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, is a Microsoft Excel expert that loves spending time analyzing data, structure, and improving processes.
The Investment Analyst at Gryphon Wealth should be genuinely curious and enjoy learning new things. While the role does require some team interaction and collaboration, it is not for people that derive their energy from social interaction. Much of the Investment Analyst's day will be spent reading and working on spreadsheets in solitude.
This role is for a no-nonsense intellectual that is structured, has exceptional organizational skills, and will follow up and follow through. They must be patient and persistent enough to see a challenge through, while also able to work efficiently.

Minimum qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in one of the fields of either business, engineering, or science
- Microsoft Excel Expert
- Proficient in data analysis and statistics
- A voracious appetite for reading and learning
Desired qualifications, but not required:
- Understanding of financial markets, investment instruments, and portfolio management principles.
- Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65)
- FactSet, Bloomberg, or Python skills
Responsibilities:
- Stay up to date on business trends and financial market conditions with a focus towards the long term.
- Read quarterly and annual financial reports and update the portfolio manager in a concise and clear way on material changes.
- Read investment research and collect data from other analysts and investment managers.
- Create and maintain financial models on portfolio companies and potential investments.
- Collect and analyze data on current portfolio investments as well as potential opportunities.
- Monitor portfolio positioning and risks.
- Screen potential investments to identify opportunities potentially worth spending more time researching.
- Place custom and block trades.
- Aid portfolio manager in preparing portfolio oriented and strategy presentations.
- Prepare Monthly Investment Strategy Meeting presentation for team leaders
- Write clear and concise reports summarizing your work and any recommendations you have.
Expectations:
- Obtain and/or maintain the appropriate FINRA license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position
- Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards
- Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory
- Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.
- Compliance and Ethics: Adhere to all relevant regulatory guidelines, company policies, and ethical standards in all aspects of financial analysis and portfolio management.
Location, hours, and working conditions:
This is an in-office position, 8AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday. We are a family-oriented team and value work life balance, however, there will be times when a flexible schedule and/or more hours are required to generate exceptional results. You should expect to work additional hours occasionally during periods of exceptional market volatility or investment opportunity. Infrequent overnight travel should be expected, typically less than 3-5 nights per year. While you should be comfortable working in solitude. The team has an open-door policy and the position requires a lot of coordination with both the team as a whole and the lead portfolio manager whose schedule is fast paced and demanding.
