Job Description

Company Overview

XYPN is the only turnkey advice and planning platform that makes it possible for fee-for-service financial advisors to build the independent firm of their dreams with complete autonomy. We do this through ongoing advocacy and access to education and training, curated technology, compliance support, community, and back-office and client support services.

XYPN was nationally recognized as one of The 346 Best Places to Work in 2019 by Inc. magazine. In addition, we have earned accolades from 2018-2022 as one of the Fastest-Growing Private Companies in Montana and in the US by Inc. magazine. This is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing company that is reshaping the financial services industry for the better.

Summary

Here at XYPN, we’re on a mission to help people live their great lives. From our core membership benefits to our robust support services to new BIG things on the horizon, XYPN comprehensively serves 1800+ financial planners as they run the independent firms of their dreams. That’s where you come in.

As an XYPN Compliance Consultant, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your knowledge of State and SEC Investment Adviser regulation as you work with fee-only advisors from coast to coast through XYPN’s member-exclusive compliance consulting services. What exactly do those services entail? Glad you asked! Through XYPN’s hourly and ongoing compliance consulting services, XYPN members have access to a dedicated team of compliance experts who are focused on understanding the specifics of their firm as well as their compliance needs, and help them develop and refine their compliance program as their firm grows. Our goal? To help new and established advisors understand and embrace their role as Chief Compliance Officer of a State or SEC registered firm.

Because you’ll never hear us say, “This is the way it’s always been done,” you’ll regularly be involved in the continuous improvement and build out of our compliance offerings as the needs of XYPN members evolve. Working alongside our other Compliance Consultants and our Managing Director of Compliance, you’ll identify and track core metrics to measure the ongoing success of our compliance offerings, provide a first class level of service to many State and SEC registered firms, contribute to webinars, online training courses, and likely speak at our annual conference around relevant subject matter when it makes sense.

And the fun doesn’t stop there! You’ll also have the chance to help with other department-level projects and/or initiatives, like developing guides and other resources for new and established firms to aid them in developing and refining their compliance program. And, as a go-to compliance expert, you’ll collaborate cross-departmentally to deliver an exceptional XYPN experience to all XYPN members.

What you’ll be doing

  • Deliver hourly and ongoing compliance consulting services to many different RIA firms across the country via our premium compliance services and consulting packages as well as through our bundled RIA registration and consulting offering.
  • Help update and refine core compliance documents for your hourly engagement and consulting clients, including revisions to the firm’s Form ADV, Form U4, Policies & Procedures, and Business Continuity Plans, in addition to other common RIA documents and manuals.
  • Effectively manage your time and schedule independently while maintaining a very high level of communication and service delivery to our members (no micromanaging here).
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing through our existing billing process for all compliance engagements, including both hourly services and ongoing consulting.
  • Conduct regulatory research and contribute to XYPN blogs, webinars, or through other content on relevant compliance topics to showcase the impressive expertise of XYPN’s in-house Compliance team.
  • Stay up to date with and well-versed in the current regulatory environment, proposed and final rule releases, interpretative releases, and other relevant communications by state and SEC regulators.
  • Answer high-level regulatory questions for other XYPN team members across the company.
  • Support our Compliance Specialists & additional Compliance Consultants as needed.
  • Help create compliance resources including templates, how-to guides, and Q&As for advisors who are launching and growing their firms

Measurables:

  1. Median turn-around time for Compliance Service Requests.
  2. Number of Ongoing Compliance Consulting Clients.
