Summary
The Parts Planning & Inventory Supervisor is responsible for leading the material planning and inventory control activities within Carolina CAT Parts. This role will partner with OEM (Caterpillar and allied vendors) and operations and supporting function leadership to help Carolina CAT achieve its objectives for the key performance indicators of Delivery and Inventory performance. This will be achieved through understanding the demand plan, converting it to material requirements, and driving fulfillment to the warehouse.

The employee may occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in some work environments is occasionally loud.

Essential Functions
- Oversee the development and implementation of the overarching strategies for the Material Planning and Inventory Control function.
- Work closely with division leadership to drive strategic materials management principles and best practices across the organization; from material requirements planning to ensuring stock optimization.
- Evaluate inventory buying and stocking strategies.
- Understand and manage effectivity of DBS (MRP system) and CAT systems to facilitate capable and productive output.
- Drive delivery assurance through backlog management and effective expediting
- Ensure strong internal controls exist and are operating effectively.
- Promote an environment of continuous improvement by monitoring business practices and procedures, identifying areas of improvement, and act accordingly to implement improved practices.
- Perform various types of analysis on supplier performance data; create charts, graphs, dashboards.
- Manage the Inventory Control team including performance monitoring, feedback, and professional development.
- Coach employees on cross-functional relationships, train and evaluate employees to enhance their performance and personal growth, foster communication and teamwork across the organization.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
- Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain or related bachelor's degree required or equivalent education and experience with 5+ years of direct experience in the field.
- Possess active knowledge of supply chain, inventory control, logistics and distribution.
- Demonstrated leadership, results delivery, and management skills.
- Ability to make rational decisions based on facts and experienced intuition.
- Must exhibit detail orientation and ability to execute and manage many priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience in the following environment preferable:
- Aftermarket, Distribution experience
- OEM, Dealer/Distributor relationship
- ERP/MRP experience.
