JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Alexandria, VA

Terms: Full Time with Benefits (PTO. Medical & Dental after 60 days, 401k after 1 year)

Schedule: Weekdays 8:00AM - 4:00-PM

Compensation: $15-$17/hour

Helen Olivia is a Washington, DC based floral and events studio that services a wide variety of accounts including hotels, universities, private homes, weddings, social events, and every day retail orders. Our focus is on providing beautiful flowers and impeccable customer service.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The vase prep position at Helen Olivia involves receiving of our hardgood materials (vases, supplies, event materials), unpacking and organizing within the studio, preparing vases for events with the appropriate mechanics, and cleaning of vases as they return from events.

As a member of this department your responsibility will be to oversee and uphold the standards essential for maintaining the luxury brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receiving daily shipments of vases and hardgoods.
• Checking in supplies and reconciling emailed order requests and invoices, noting quality, quantity, and other issues on Issues Log. Communicate with General Manager any issues for resolution with our wholesalers/suppliers.
• Using a production calendar to pull and prep the appropriate vases according to event.
• Label and organize vases clearly and according to event.
• Maintaining an inventory of all vases and hardgoods and notifying manager when supply runs low.
• Maintain a ready supply of prepped lomey dishes, chicken wire, water tubes, etc for design team.
• Maintain a tidy work area, including the sink area where vases are washed.
• Maintain a well organized rental department, returning vases and rentals to the correct shelf promptly after events.
• Assist cooler team with flower processing on days with a heavy volume.
• Properly sanitizing and storing buckets and vases.
• Check in daily with operations manager, cooler manager, and design manager to collaborate on upcoming events and deadlines.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to take direction and work independently.
• Attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to speak and understand English, though fluency in English is not a requirement.
• Proficient in google drive, Microsoft, email.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
