Job description

Title: Inventory Control Specialist

Location: Middlebury, VT (in-person)

Type: Full-time, Exempt

Reports to: Director of Supply Chain

WhistlePig Whiskey is a renowned producer of premium rye whiskey located on a picturesque farm in Shoreham, Vermont. We are dedicated to crafting the finest quality spirits using traditional methods and the highest quality ingredients. We have recently opened a new location in Middlebury, VT and are expanding operations. We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist who will play a critical role in purchasing materials for our make to stock bottling production process, provide support to the supply chain team by executing the purchasing strategies and liaise with the operations team to ensure the availability of quality ingredients & components for whiskey production.

Job Summary:

This new position within the supply chain team will be responsible for facilitating the inventory plan, coordinate the purchasing of all materials necessary for make to stock inventory, support inbound deliveries from vendors or transfer of materials from other warehouses, and closely monitor inventory levels essential to the whiskey production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for re-ordering and maintaining inventory levels, and upholding accurate records of all packaging components needed for whiskey bottling production process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and finance to align inventory activities with organizational goals.
  • Provide regular and direct reviews of all packaging components sourced for all exisiting and new variants.
  • Generate inventory reports, and suggest ways to optimize inventory needs/procedures and cost savings.
  • Support the Supply Chain team with procurement initiatives.
  • Coordinate onsite and 3rd party inventory storage capacity and implement new initiatives to better manage site inventory and cost savings.
  • Report on stock levels, capacity, issues etc..
  • Utilize ERP software to monitor and verify inventory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and ethical standards in procurement activities.
