WHO WILL I BE WORKING FOR?

Founded in 1965, this company has provided exceptional service to educational and publisher partners for over 50 years. They offer their educational customers an extensive selection of over 100,000 titles marketed by many of the nation's leading educational publishers. Their goal is to be the single best source for K-12 instructional material for all schools, districts, and educators in Oregon, Washington, and Alaska.

They are a sales and distribution agent for each of their publisher partners. They can honor each publisher's pricing and gratis material agreements. This eliminates the need to contact each individual publisher directly, which saves customers time, reduces their freight costs, and simplifies their purchasing procedures.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

This company is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented analyst to join their Inventory Control department. In this role, you will manage the stock of educational material and ensure the company has sufficient inventory to meet the annual and seasonal demands of their educational customers.

Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) the following:

· Ordering stock from 50 educational publishers based on multiple factors including input from customer relations team, forecasts based on prior sales, school district textbook purchasing plans, direction from publishers, and incoming purchase orders.

· Working with publisher inventory contacts to confirm orders are being processed in a timely manner, backorders are cleared promptly, and accurate tracking information is provided to multiple relevant parties both inside and outside the company.

· Collaborating with members of warehouse and customer relations teams to balance stock levels needed to ensure high fill rates with space constraints and operational restrictions.

· Ensuring periodic price adjustments and large additions to the company’s list of available titles are entered into the company’s computer systems accurately and on schedule.

· Leading all Inventory Control activities relating physical inventories including researching and reconciling discrepancies.

· Managing the creation and maintenance of bill of material listings.

· Overseeing the processing of defective book dispositions in accordance with publisher policies.

· Working with our IT department to develop and implement process improvements.

Providing custom reports to various relevant parties including upper level management

Requirements:

· Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

· Strong attention to details

· Ability to work well independently as well as lead cross-functional teams

· Minimum five years of inventory management experience (supervisory experience desired but not required)

· Proficient in Word/Excel and comfortable with enterprise resource management programs

· Capable of working on multiple projects at a time with similar needs and similar deadlines
