Job Summary

We are seeking an individual that can help us optimize our inventory levels and empower each business unit at Entergy to exceed our customer’s expectations.

 

The Inventory Control Analyst enables business unit inventory decision making by understanding the demand plan, leveraging predictive data analytics, networking with people, developing streamlined processes, and effectively communicating the vision of inventory optimization. The analyst operates autonomously and acts as a resource for other analysts throughout Supply Chain and Entergy.

 

The role will work with an enterprise-wide network of people and will be a point of contact for assigned business units to ensure inventory activities are coordinated, optimized, and performed with adherence to Entergy’s policies and procedures.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Actively promote strong safety behaviors and ensure the team always puts safety first.
  • Apply the principles and practices of inventory management (demand planning, warehouse flow, inventory turns, cycle counting, and auditing).
  • Perform insightful data analyses to determine potential business risk associated with inventory management.
  • Analyze purchase orders and material requests with demand plan to track inventory optimization, work with stakeholders to update processes, and effectively implement required changes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure Supply Chain is addressing inventory management needs pro-actively and in the most beneficial way for Entergy.
  • Conduct business unit’s needs assessments to determine customer requirements; attend stakeholder meetings where appropriate.
  • Perform storm role duties as assigned through the Entergy and Supply Chain Incident Response.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education, Experience and/or Certification

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Statistics, Logistics, Economics, or other related discipline and a minimum of 7+ years of inventory management and supply chain experience OR in lieu of a degree, minimum 11+ years of inventory management and supply chain experience.

Preferred:

Supply Chain Certification from an industry accreditation organization such as CPSM, APICS, etc.

Power BI experience 

 

Knowledge/Skills

Technical:

  • Advanced understanding of business and Supply Chain Operations within Entergy; including how Entergy manages inventory; experience and knowledge of supply chain systems and processes.
  • Highly skillful in organization of demand planning across business units; understanding of how to network with other departments to optimize inventory levels.
  • High proficiency in developing complex inventory strategies, based on business unit’s objectives.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience implementing inventory management processes, such as, but not limited to, cycle counting and shrink management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency implementing multiple continuous improvement projects, related to inventory management, concurrently.
  • Advanced knowledge of warehousing, distribution, and fulfillment processes, such as, but not limited to, yard management, receiving, put-away, packing, sorting, and shipping.
  • Advanced experience implementing inventory management software systems; advises working groups on best practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others through human performance and behavior management techniques, outstanding interpersonal skills with a focus on development of individual team members.
  • Advanced understanding of relationship management between clients, other supply chain specialists, vendors and other third parties for materials.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and application of document management and control standards; including management and maintenance of filing systems (hard copy and electronic).
  • Advanced understanding and application in working across categories; recommend opportunities to improve business performance; knowledge of when to liaise with other departments.

 

Professional:

  • Skillful application of project management principles to ensure systematic, thorough completion of each assignment, identifying critical pathways and risks to delivery.
  • Advanced application of commercial skills and financial acumen, understanding the key business drivers and impact to Entergy on outcomes.
  • Skillful application of data analysis methods/techniques to provide detailed reports and insights; propose conclusions, use data trends and present in meaningful ways.
  • Ability to coach and lead other supply chain personnel in technical tools and techniques.
  • Advanced at internal and external stakeholder communications; operates independently with stakeholders; apply influencing skills to develop best outcomes for Entergy.
  • Skillful at building relationships and networks with all stakeholders; including with suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of how to effectively manage the costs of the business.
  • Strong communication skills in presenting concise/relevant information to stakeholders.
  • Skillful organization of demand planning.
  • Strong ability to influence others without direct authority.
