Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle to transport goods to and from designated locations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload materials using forklifts and other equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs, manifests, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Transport pallet goods and packages from a place of origin to assigned destination
- Communicate with lead and outside vendor on status of purchase orders and availability of deliveries and pick ups
- Ensure contents are properly secured to prevent breakage or damage
- Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods from a truck at selected destinations
- Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
- Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs
- Track and report working hours
- Comply with ICC and DOT regulations
- Delivery routes may require travel as far north as Portland, Maine, as far south as Richmond, VA or as far west as Pittsburgh, PA.
- Delivery routes will require overnight travel weekly.
Qualifications:
- Valid CDL Class A driver's license with a clean driving record.
- 4-6 years of experience as a Class A CDL driver, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
- Ability to do overnight trips 1-2 times per week.
- Forklift experience and certification preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred
- Must have DOT medical card
- Experience driving a large company van or truck preferred
- Must pass a background check and drug test
- Comfortable maneuvering and parking a large vehicle
- Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
