Job description

Duties:
"Assists physicians with performance of interventional radiographic and related procedures for diagnostic interpretation and/or therapeutic interventions.
Responsible for preparation, documentation of inventory of materials, supplies and coding used for interventional radiology services.
Other duties as assigned.
Following established protocols, operates angiographic and related equipment (injectors, IV pumps, monitoring devices, filters, etc.) to perform therapeutic interventional procedures and produce diagnostic studies of the highest quality, without compromising patient/staff safety.
Evaluates needs of radiologists.
Maintains inventory and stock in IR rooms.
Documents inventory decrementing.
Recommends products and alternatives to physicians/department based on benefit, cost, availability, safety, preference, etc.
Crosstrains and/or proctors new staff/interns to assist in performance of IR/NI procedures.
Assists in IR/NI Lab billing process and filming, PACS /Archival Process.
Utilizes PACS technical review stations to match images taken, resolves any QA issues and approves images prior to processing.
Understands and utilizes all aspects of EPIC/Radiant including complete and accurate documentation. (Tracking, charging, progress notes).
Works with other departments and modalities for appropriate scheduling and throughput of exams.
Assists in transporting of patients, as needed."
Skills:
"Additional technical courses and experience with progressive responsibility and experience in IR/NIR and or Cath Lab is required.
One year of experience in an IR or Cath Lab setting OR completion of the FMLH IR Internship is required.
In-depth knowledge of the operation of interventional radiographic and related diagnostic and therapeutic equipment/supplies.

Education:
"Completion of (minimum) a 2-year, approved, program in Radiologic Technology is required.
ARRT registered and current State of Wisconsin license as a Radiographer required.
Advanced certification through ARRT in ARRT-CI or ARRT-CV or ARRT-VI is required within 12 months of hire.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within three months of hire."
