Job Description

The Radiologic/IR Technologist is actively involved in the patient procedural environment. They are charged to provide the optimum imaging results while applying all reasonable efforts to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure. IR techs under the general supervision of a radiologist the technologist is responsible for managing a safe imaging procedure, establishing, and maintaining a sterile space and positioning the patient.

As a practice with multiple locations, staff will be assigned to a location based on patient volume and need for coverage.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties:

  • Scrub and assist the physician in during the Endovascular procedures
  • Circulate within the procedure suite and procure all equipment needed for any given procedure
  • Position the patient, select exposure parameters, and image the patient
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy and an awareness of all radiation and patient safety issues involved with any invasive procedure
  • Recognize and resolve equipment problems and discrepancies, anticipate patient needs and concerns, and determine the appropriate care required
  • Transport patients within the patient space
  • Follow infection control and safety guidelines
  • Surgical/Procedural Instrumentation (sterilization, cleaning, and care)
  • Prioritize PHI initiatives
  • Provide technologist coverage at one of the many CiC locations based on assignment.

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding and working knowledge of normal anatomy, abnormal anatomy, physiology, radiation safety, interventional supplies and equipment operation
  • Using professional judgement and critical thinking when performing procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Participates in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills for continued competence
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of computer technology

Job Related Expectation:

Represents the mission, vision, and values of CiC in all functions of the position. Demonstrates leadership and personal growth thru participation in education practice-based programs, department operations and identifying new opportunities to enhance job functions. Applies the standards of practice/performances, guidelines relative to departmental operations.


Customer Service Expectation:

Demonstrates customer services that is in keeping with vision of CiC. Exhibits concern and compassion for all patients needs whether directly or through supportive actions with patient's family.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certification /diploma from an approved program of Radiologic Sciences.
  • Requires national certification from the ARRT and licensure by state.
  • Advance certification by ARRT required when applicable
  • Must maintain CME standards as required by ARRT
  • BLS /ACLS required
  • Must maintain high patient privacy standards and adheres to HiPAA guidelines
  • This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with a minimum of 5 years experience relevant to CiC's scope of practice.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills

Pay: $40.00 per hour
