Job Brief:

  • We are looking for people who enjoy being part of a school community and can implement educational programs for students and support our teachers. Your responsibilities will include reinforcing learning for students, providing positive behavior supports, and implementing lesson plans to help students. Location: Olivew Brown Elementary

Salary:

  • $11.50/hour

Hours Per Day:

  • Additional duties available before and after school hours.
  • Flexible hours depending on availability
  • Average workday = 7 hours
  • Full time and part time opportunities available

Days Per Year:

  • Positions available during the regular school year
  • Options for summer employment

Benefits:

FLSA Status:

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • CPR and First Aid certificates are highly recommended.
  • All USD 383 employees must pass a background check.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed.

Reports To:

  • Principal/Teacher

Job Duties:

  • Works with individual students or in small groups to reinforce learning of material or skills first introduced by the teacher.
  • Reads to students, listens to students read, and participates in other forms of oral communications with students.
  • Checks notebooks, corrects papers, and supervises testing and make up work, as assigned by the teacher.
  • Helps students master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher.
  • Operates equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes and material preparation.
  • Assists with student supervision during lunch periods, assemblies, play periods, and on field trips.
  • Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of teachers.
  • Performs other duties assigned by the teacher.
