Salary: $39,000.00 - $45,000.00 annually
(Starting salary depends on education and experience)
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Interstate Compact Placement (ICPL) Liaison is responsible for making decisions to provide approval or denial regarding interstate child placements and overall supervision for any children placed in Kansas through another state’s child welfare system. Key job duties include continually analyzing and assessing each family and child situation on an individual basis, and using advanced knowledge in child welfare to develop recommendations regarding supportive services and resources that each child and family may need to ensure safety and wellbeing. This position coordinates and facilitates activities with the sending state to ensure that each child requiring placement in Kansas will receive the maximum opportunity to be in a safe, suitable environment with persons or institutions having appropriate qualifications, facilities, and commitment to care. The ICPL Liaison I-II is also responsible for assisting the family in cultivating natural and informal family and community supports, providing reports to the sending state per DCF and Cornerstones of Care policy, and making recommendations regarding permanency and safety for the children in Interstate Placements. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a flexible work schedule to meet the children's and families needs and preparing/maintaining required case documentation according to Cornerstones of Care and DCF policy. This position is also required to attend and actively participate in staff meetings, unit meetings, supervisory conferences, consultations, committee meetings, treatment meetings, and other meetings as directed by Cornerstones of Care supervisory staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or another Human service-related field. The preferred candidate will possess a Master’s degree in Social Work or related field, be licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board to practice in Kansas, and have one (1) to three (3) years of experience. Must pass a background check, physical, and drug screening. This position also requires a valid driver’s license and proof of current vehicle insurance.
