Job Description:
The Senior International Tax Specialist is a vital team member within the Tax department who will actively contribute to the department's success. This individual will prepare analyses and workpapers requiring tax knowledge and expertise, supervise and review the work of junior team members, and support the use of tax provision and tax compliance software systems. The Senior International Tax Specialist must establish and maintain strong relationships with Controllers, the Treasury team, and other business colleagues while staying informed about Finance processes, systems, policies, and the financial/tax profiles of individual non-US legal entities.
Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual international ASC 740 (FAS 109/FIN 48) tax accruals, global effective tax rate calculations, and footnote disclosures.
- Prepare or review Forms 5471, 8858, and 8865 using the Tax Technologies software system.
- Conduct detailed analyses of earnings and profits, foreign tax credit, Subpart F income, GILTI inclusion, previously taxed income, and foreign source income.
- Contribute to International Tax planning projects, research tax issues for tax planning and compliance reporting, and draft memoranda to support and document conclusions.
- Support the creation of specific tax models.
- Keep abreast of current and proposed tax law changes in the US and abroad to determine global impact.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of International Tax experience in either an in-house or public accounting setting.
- International income tax compliance knowledge (Forms 5471, 8865, and 8858), as well as experience with quarterly and year-end financial reporting and tax research for various companies.
- Bachelor's degree with relevant coursework in finance, tax, and/or accounting; a graduate degree in tax is a plus.
- Comprehensive International Tax experience, including technical expertise in International Tax compliance and tax provision.
- Familiarity with tax compliance and provision software, specifically Tax Technologies compliance and OneSource Tax Provision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
