**Core Faculty Opening in Tucson, AZ**_x000D_ _x000D_ * Seeking BE/BC Internal Medicine Core Faculty members to join our new Internal Medicine Residency Program in beautifulTucson, AZ._x000D_ _x000D_ * These individuals will work with the residency program director and associate program director to develop and implement a novel and innovative training experience for future generations of Internal Medicine physicians._x000D_ * This is an exciting opportunity to join and build a new program in its earliest stages._x000D_ * Hospital employed opportunity, joining a large and very busy multi-specialty group in the outpatient setting._x000D_ * 0.8 clinical supervision of residents in outpatient Internal Medicine._x000D_ * 0.2 FTE dedicated administrative time._x000D_ * Assist with and attend didactics/education activities, including making and presenting lectures, moderating a journal club, moderating an M&M conference, or participating in orientation week, simulation day, and/or research days._x000D_ * Seek opportunities to engage with residents in scholarly activity such as writing up a case for publication, performing a QI activity, or other publishable work such as book chapters or articles._x000D_ * Join one or two committees that meet one to three times a year each, depending on your interest and availability._x000D_ * Interview residency program candidates on select interview days._x000D_ * Participate in social gatherings when available._x000D_ * Ensure residents know their educational goals and schedules for the assigned rotation(s)._x000D_ * Ensure residents receive hands-on clinical training in the field of outpatient Internal Medicine during patient care and take the time to answer questions, prompt learning, and offer salient teaching points._x000D_ * Supervise residents in their documentation in the EMR, writing of orders, and articulation of care plans by reviewing resident notes and adding the appropriate addendums._x000D_ * Provide the resident informal and formal feedback throughout each supervisory period so they are learning and growing. At the end of the rotation, provide the resident formal feedback through an online form and review your formal feedback with them. If supervising the resident as part of a group or team, share your feedback about the resident's performance with the faculty member responsible for completing the evaluation in a timely manner._x000D_ _x000D_ **Requirements**_x000D_ _x000D_ * Physician must be board-certified or board-eligible in the United States in the field of Internal Medicine. _x000D_ * Skill in doing outpatient procedures and use of ultrasound encouraged.
