Position Title: Internal Communications Specialist

REPORTS TO: SVP Marketing & Community

SUPERVISES: N/A

JOB STATUS: Non-Exempt


JOB GRADE 9: $20.77 to $25.97 Targeted Hourly Rate


JOB SUMMARY:

The Internal Communications Specialist will support effective and seamless communication within the organization to promote transparency, engagement, and alignment among employees and leadership. Assists with administrative tasks to ensure efficient operations. The role involves a mix of Internal Communications, administrative duties, project coordination, and the individual is a skilled storyteller with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for creating engaging content.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the SVP of Marketing & Communications, develop and execute the credit union's Internal Communications strategy.
  • Assist in creating and distributing internal newsletters, memos, and announcements.
  • Work in close partnership with leadership to execute communication initiatives from concept to delivery.
  • Align messaging with State ECU's vision, mission, culture, and market positioning.
  • Coordinate internal meetings and webinars, including setup and logistics.
  • Support the administration, creation, and updating of company intranet content.
  • Write and tailor content for specific audiences and with an understanding of messaging, positioning, and stakeholder needs.
  • Assist in monitoring and analyzing metrics related to Internal Communications channels.
  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and handle travel arrangements for assignments.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for a wide range of audiences, projects, and other communications campaigns.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical files and records.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of internal events.
  • Coordinate with various departments for internal initiatives, including employee engagement and employee communication campaigns.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to produce clear, concise, and compelling content for a variety of audiences and platforms.
  • Ability to develop effective Internal Communications to ensure employees are informed, engaged, and motivated.
  • Highly skilled across multiple applications in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experienced with Intranet, content management, and related web authoring tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Some experience in project management, planning, and similar.
  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with different departments and partners to achieve organizational communication goals.
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback and use it to improve future communications.
  • Job Related Travel - As required.

Education/Experience:

  • Education or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in communications, Business Administration, or related field, in addition to 1-2 years of experience in Internal Communications, administration, or similar.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Some standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending and lifting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
