As a Product Development Intern you will support the Product Development (PDEV) team to provide innovative mechanical designs, concepts, and prototypes of in-store displays and graphics for Retail, Brand Marketers & Intermediaries (i.e. Fixture Manufacturers). This role will include duties, but are not limited to, using hand tools, designing and prototyping using various equipment and machines, learning and utilizing various software and computer programs. This role requires working knowledge and experience engineering packets and strong mechanical thinking. The Product Development Intern will work with internal teams including Sales, Design, and Engineering, as well as Estimating, Sourcing, and Production. The role will act as a mentee under all Product Developers.
Shift available: Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Compensation: Hourly
A variety of these traits will help land you this job if you:
- are pursuing a degree in Engineering, Packaging Design, Structural Design, Display Design or Fixture Design program
- have experience working with computer aided design and drafting tools
On top of that you must:
- have the ability to work onsite full time for the length of the internship with travel to other local TBG facilities.
- pay close attention to details so you are able to complete projects accurately within deadlines, while meeting Company quality standards.
- be self-motivated, a fast learner, and show initiative to seek out customer and corporate needs.
- have the ability to work independently, make decisions and solve problems independently, effectively and creatively.
- apply effective time management and self-management skills.
- understand and maintain the confidential nature of company and client information.
In this position, you will:
- work hand-in-hand with current Product Developers to develop new displays, make modifications or improvements.
- actively participate in the design, build, and testing prototypes to fit customer requirements and/or vision.
- contribute as needed to support internal production teams.
- take direction from all Product Developers regarding proper operation and practices of shop equipment.
- maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- learn the various processes and procedures that TBG uses as a unique display manufacturing company.
- perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management.
