Nuclear Fuel Services (NFS), a division of BWX Technologies, Inc., is seeking an Intern for our MC&A Department. Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. has established programs to effectively protect, control, and account for nuclear material. Material control and accounting programs at NFS fall under the responsibility of the MC&A Department. The MC&A Department's primary mission is to: 1) maintain an accurate, current, and reliable information source of all material, 2) confirm the identify, quantity, and location of material, 3) identify, investigate, and resolve any issues with material inventories. Candidates interested in learning and working in this disipline are encourged to search the regulatory requirements outlined in the US Code of Federal Regulations Title 10, Energy, Part 74 - Material Control and Accounting of Special Nuclear Material. Additionally, the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) website contains catalogs of relavent information for this subject area.
Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen (no dual citizenship).
- Must be a currently enrolled student pursuing a B.S./B.A. degree. (B. S. degree preferred)
- Applicant must be willing to commit to working part time during the school year and full time during the summer and break periods.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government clearance.
