The Government Affairs Intern will work closely with the Sr. Vice President of Government Affairs to increase Inspira Health's profile and influence public policy on Capitol Hill, with the administration, and in state governments. Ensure that the patient remains at the center of focus. Understand existing Government Affairs processes and responsibilities. Assist the Sr. Vice President of Government Affairs to implement strategic projects. Coordinate and attend meetings with government officials.
Prepare briefings for executive interaction with policymakers and government leadership. Assist in the drafting of advocacy materials and position papers, and internal and External communications. Monitor political and industry press.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Political science, government, or public policy major, preferred
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Monitor pending legislation and regulations
Write policy summaries
Develop and execute communication plans
Compile contact lists
Create or update databases
Attend events, as needed
Assist with filing, records management and other projects as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Working knowledge of state and federal legislative process
Highly proficient writing and research skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Organized, with an ability to prioritize time sensitive assignments
Interest in interaction between Government and business
Ability to work independently and know when to ask questions
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Must be a current student returning to school in the fall
