Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated intern to join our team as a DevOps Engineer Intern. As a DevOps Engineer Intern, you will work closely with our DevOps team to support and improve our development and production environments. You will learn about automation, cloud computing, deployment processes, and infrastructure management while working on real-world projects.

What you have:

  • Basic understanding of DevOps principles: Familiarity with the core concepts and principles of DevOps, such as continuous integration and deployment, infrastructure as code, automation, and collaboration.
  • Knowledge of relevant tools and technologies: Understanding of commonly used DevOps tools and technologies, such as version control systems (e.g., Git), continuous integration and deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD), configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef), containerization (e.g., Docker), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Nagios, ELK stack).
  • Programming and scripting skills: Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Ruby. Ability to write scripts, automate tasks, and develop tools to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Linux/Unix knowledge: Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line tools. Understanding of basic system administration tasks, file systems, and networking concepts.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills: Ability to analyze and solve technical issues efficiently. Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve problems in the infrastructure or software applications.
  • Collaboration and communication: Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential for working in a collaborative team environment. Ability to effectively communicate ideas, ask questions, and seek help when needed. Willingness to share knowledge and contribute to team discussions. 

What you will do:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of our cloud-based infrastructure
  • Work with the development team to ensure smooth deployment of software releases
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
  • Develop and maintain automated build and deployment processes
  • Create and maintain infrastructure as code scripts and configurations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and effective delivery of software products
  • Participate in incident response and resolution
  • Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to our infrastructure and processes 

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix administration and command line proficiency
  • Familiarity with cloud computing and virtualization technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, VMware)
  • Experience with automation and scripting tools (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible)
  • Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus
