Interim Chair& Associate or Full Professor

Job Summary:

Interim chair of the Department of Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Health to serve as a visionary, collaborative, and creative leader and part of the leadership team of the College of Education, Health and Society. The Interim Chair is responsible for the planning and administration of a department consisting of approximately 20 faculty and a number of assigned staff. Appointment will start July, 2024.

Duties:

Responsibilities of the chair include, but are not limited to:

-Providing visionary leadership to advance a culture of collaboration, transparency, and excellence in line with College’s goals and the University’s strategic plan.

-Enhancing social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusive excellence among faculty, staff, and students in the department.

-Managing and developing the financial, human, and facility resources necessary to accomplish the mission of the department.

-Working with faculty to enhance and expand the academic portfolio of the department at the undergraduate and graduate level.

-Supporting and promoting faculty and student research, including growing the department’s external funding profile.

-Promoting efforts to improve recruitment and retain students, faculty, and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. [or doctorate] in related field within the Department of Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Health. Awarded tenure at Miami with a current appointment as Full/Associate Professor in Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Health. Established record of teaching, research and service.
