About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Director of Transmission, the Interconnection Manager will support the development of interconnection strategies for new regions and Nova’s existing project development pipeline through a combination of process and project management and technical due diligence.
This is ahybrid position 3-days a week in our downtown Chicago or Austin offices and may include up to 10% travel for industry conferences.
Both through individual contributions and the partnership of external consultants, the Interconnection Manager will:
- Analyze and drive the interconnection process for Nova’s growing development pipeline.
- Manage interconnection projects from application to project completion or handoff.
- Screen ISO report stacks, synthesizing and relaying information to the Senior Director of Transmission and Head of Development weekly.
- Perform technical due diligence on early- and mid-stage projects, including project feasibility and transmission/injection capacity analysis
- Partner with external consultants to evaluate how projects should be sized from a transmission perspective
- Research and report on existing regulations and proposed changes
- Attend industry conferences as needed.

About You
You have meaningful experience managing the interconnection process within an ISO or utility or renewable energy developer and are looking to expand your knowledge and get exposure to multiple aspects of the development process. You’re able to forge your own path finding creative solutions to complex problems.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline required; Electrical Engineering with Power Systems preferred
- 5+ years of experience in interconnection process management with 2-3 years in transmission planning with expert knowledge of PowerWorld, PSSE, GE PSLF, or other power flow modeling software is required; preferably in ERCOT or MISO region
- Familiarity with production cost modeling and economic analysis
- Understanding of various ISOs/RTOs, utilities, transmission planning and interconnection process, and timelines for the US market
- Working knowledge of FERC and NERC requirements, and issues regarding transmission and interconnection
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret regulatory documents, transmission studies, engineering reports and interconnection agreements
- Experience managing multiple projects and competing deadlines
