Job Description
The Interactive Media Production Program (IMP) Lab Assistant provides support in the College's Joppa Hall digital computer lab, helping students and faculty as needed.
Duties include:
This is an hourly, grant-funded position. Due to the funding for this position, current HCC students are not eligible to apply.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.
Required Education
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or above in related field preferred.
Required Experience
One year or more of user-centered design experience preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Applicants should be able to work with students in a computer lab, communicate effectively within and across organizations, and work independently to complete tasks and meet deadlines. Applicants should have a demonstrated knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), including proficiency in generating and manipulating Excel files for data tracking. Attention to detail and organizational skills are also required.
Preferred Qualifications
Basic knowledge of video games, VR, mobile apps and gaming, social media, streaming, content creation, Unity, Figma, Adobe XD, Unreal Engine, and the Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.

Job Description
The Interactive Media Production Program (IMP) Lab Assistant provides support in the College's Joppa Hall digital computer lab, helping students and faculty as needed.
Duties include:
- Oversee use of the digital lab during assigned hours
- Demonstrate proper use of computers, printers, scanners and peripherals
- Attend to lab equipment to ensure smooth operations
- Help students complete course assignments.
- Use computer-based instructional software to support students and faculty
- Work with faculty to explore and remain up-to-date on program-based software and technologies
- Order supplies and equipment as directed
