Position Intensive In-Home Counselor

Qualifications:

Extreme Counseling Solutions. Inc. is seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-C) to assist us in our mission to provide comprehensive in home counseling services for children diagnosed with behavioral and mental illness. In this position, you will work in an individual home or in the community with individuals who are at risk of out of the home placement. Intensive In-home counselors will assist them in their personal living space apartments and/or homes. Helping assist children and families to develop and build the skills, they will need to remain in the home with stable behavior and mental health concerns. As a part of a dynamic and supportive team, our In home counselors work together with other mental health providers, schools and the medical providers to develop an individualized service plans for all individuals to assist towards remaining with family and community stability.

The In-Home Counselor must possess Skills and abilities necessary for the delivery of -

• Psycho-educational services,
• Mentoring services,
• Crisis de-escalation services,
• Family relationship building,
• Parenting skills training,
• Social skills building,
• Anger Management,
• Self sufficiency and self management skills,
• Academic and vocational guidance, community awareness and responsibility, and
• Goals setting.
• MAY NOT perform individual or family counseling/therapy, unless licensed, or license eligible and working under the supervision of an LMHP.

Training and Certification

Must meet the DBHDS definition of "Qualified Mental Health Professional-Adult (QMHP-C)" to include:• At least a bachelor's degree in human services or related field (social work, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, human services counseling or other degree deemed equivalent to those described) from an accredited college and with at least one year of clinical experience providing direct services to individuals with a diagnosis of mental illness;or• an individual with a master's degree in psychology from an accredited college or university with at least one year of clinical experience;or• a person with at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited college in an unrelated field that includes at least 15 semester credits (or equivalent) in a human services field and who has at least three years of clinical experience;or• any other licensed mental health professional

1. The In-Home Counselor will also receive training in Behavior Management, verbal and physical restraint and emergency preparedness annually.

2. Receive the necessary educational training required to maintain a LPC or LCSW License, if licensed

3. Receive training in and hold a current certificate, issued by a recognized authority, in standard first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or emergency medical training.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour
