Press America, Inc. is a Full Service mailer/commercial printer located in Elk Grove Village. We have a full-time position available for an experienced Mail Inserter Operator to join our team.
You must have experience setting up and operating an Intelligent Mail Inserter (Blue Crest/Pitney Bowes preferred but not required), and this must be reflected on your resume to be considered for this position.
Job Summary:
The Inserter Machine Operator is responsible for setting up the Inserter production line, collaborating with the production line team, reading and understanding job tickets, and ensuring all jobs are processed properly to customer specifications per the job ticket.
NOTE: This is not a mail sorter position and does require experience setting up and operating a mail inserting equipment; applications without this experience will not be considered. Resume must also reflect answers to screener questions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to operate inserting equipment independently with minimal training or supervision.
- Ability to assist and mentor other inserting operators.
- Ability to use knowledge and experience to present solutions when machine challenges arise.
- Create and implement work instructions as needed.
- Setup, startup, and properly operate each piece of postal mailing inserting equipment trained on within the mail department. This would include but is not limited to inserters, inkjet equipment, stampers (in-line and offline), and metering equipment (in-line and offline).
- Evaluate job tickets and operating processes to ensure all quality controls are in place to prevent machine error from occurring.
- Inspect inserted mail pieces and conduct quality checks in accordance with process standards and guidelines.
- Reads, understands, and accurately follows job ticket Instructions.
- Set up, adjust, and operate all Inserter equipment (Pitney Bowes and Bell and Howell), folder, inkjet equipment.
- Set up, adjust, and operate camera system and maintain 100% match integrity.
- Maintain a working knowledge of postal sorting, traying, sacking, and palletizing mail.
- Examine product frequently ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Verify proper inserting order, folding specs, and address block/envelope elements layout.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance as scheduled on assigned machine to ensure its optimum operation.
- Adjusts conveyor.
- Move product around using a pallet jack.
- Ensure the product meets customer specifications, notifying management immediately for quality concerns.
- Log in and out of jobs and complete necessary paperwork.
- Maintain cleanliness of the production line.
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with production line, data team, and management.
- Adheres to all safety rules, regulations, and company policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience with Intelligent Mail inserting
- Knowledge of USPS postal regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well with others
- Knowledge of Intelligent Mail and Intelligent Mail inserting equipment
- Computer knowledge
