INTEGRATIVE BIOLOGY AND PHYSIOLOGY
Physiological Science 7:” Science and Food”
Open Until Filled Position:
The Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology at UCLA is seeking an instructor to teach Physiological Science 7: Science and Food for Spring 2025 in academic year 2024-2025.
Salary range: The posted UC salary scales (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/compensation/index.html) set the minimum pay determined by the experience level at time of hire. See Table 15: Unit 18 Faculty, Pre-Six Year Appointments, Academic Year. The annual salary range for this position is $66,259 (Salary Point 1) - $70,295 (Salary Point 3) effective July 1, 2023.
Duties: Teach a lecture course on concepts in the physical sciences and Physiology through the lens of food and cooking. Plan and coordinate discussion activities for multiple sections of courses; supervise course teaching assistants; manage the acquisition and maintenance of course materials; supervise student projects; and maintain office hours.
Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in the biological and/or physical sciences is preferred but not required. An advanced degree in any relevant field will be considered. Level of appointment and salary commensurate with qualifications, experience, and duties.
