Job Description
Children's division of Behavioral and Mental Health is a rapidly growing branch of service seeing patients within Children's three emergency departments, inpatient medical settings, and across the spectrum of care of outpatient clinics. Our team strives to provide excellent clinical care while meeting the needs of our patients and their families. We are working to innovate the Mental Health care system for children in Georgia and are recruiting dedicated and experienced team members who are eager to join this mission.
Children's Integrated Care Team provides behavioral health in primary care and provides consultative and intervention services in the pediatric primary care practice at Hughes-Spalding. The practice serves a high proportion of children ensured by Medicaid and is comprised of a team of pediatricians, psychologists, nurses, psychologists, and a medical social worker. The ideal candidate would have strong problem-solving skills, skills in the flexible application of evidence-based treatment, and interest in collaborating with teams to help innovate and improve Mental Health care access for a diverse population of patients. Candidates with a background in Integrated Care with diverse populations preferred.
Provide therapy using evidence-based best practices for the treatment of children and adolescents suffering from anxiety, depression, and other related conditions.
Experience

  • 5 years of post-licensure experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience with providing diagnostic assessment and therapy services to children and adolescents
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children & adolescents with behavioral and Mental Health needs and their families
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with Play Therapy, CBT, PCIT, Solution-Focused Therapy is preferred
  • Experience with children & adolescents with co-occurring medical issues preferred

Education
  • Master's degree in social work, Mental Health counseling, or marriage and family therapy from an accredited university

Certification Summary
  • An unrestricted license in the state of Georgia (LCSW, LMFT, LPC)

Job Responsibilities
  • Provides effective delivery of services (e.g., assessments, consultation, and therapy) appropriate to the patient's specific needs and severity level of disability or impairment.
  • Select and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions.
  • Timely completion of notes in electronic medical record, including diagnostic coding.
  • Bills appropriately for services in accordance with regulations set forth by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
  • Provide individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy.
  • Gather and integrate information from all available sources, including client self-reports, reports from family members, guardian(s), documented medical records, treatment history, etc.
  • Conduct crisis and safety planning with patients.
  • Demonstrates and practices family-centered care.
  • Maintains a therapeutic relationship with patient and family.
  • Communicates relevant information at the patient/family level of understanding.
  • Identifies patient/family need for services from ancillary departments and provides follow-up and referral as necessary.
  • Includes family/caregiver participation in all phases of the patient's program.
  • Assess client satisfaction and participate in program evaluation as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings and case consultations (as needed).
  • Complete clinical records and agency documentation in a timely manner consistent with policies and procedures.
  • Provide support and psychoeducation to parents and caregivers on behavioral interventions, mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities, techniques needed to manage behaviors and symptoms and develop functional skills using behavioral approaches.
  • Provide in-services to all staff focusing on BMH topics of interest.
  • Provides onboarding to new BMH Therapists.
  • Provides clinical supervision to students, and other employees as assigned.
  • Participate in on-site and off-site community collaboration meetings.
