Position: Intake Pharmacy Technician
The Pharmacy Intake Technician will work under the direct supervision of the Intake Supervisor for Unitedrx
Industry: Healthcare - Pharmaceutical
Work Experience:
- High School Diploma
- 2 years experience in pharmacy or related health care field preferred
- Dependable in attendance and job performance
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with other employees

Location: Johnson City, TN

- UnitedRx serves the pharmaceutical needs of long-term care facilities and their patients. We are not open to the public and communicate primarily with nurses.
Shift/Hours :
- Day shift with rotating Evening Shifts
- Shifts/times can vary based on company/employee need

Requirements:
- Education-High School Diploma
- Certified Technician by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
- Tennessee Board of Pharmacy registered (must be obtained within 90 days of employment)
- IL Pharmacy Technician License ( must be obtained prior to start date)
Intake Pharmacy Technician Job Functions
- Interprets orders correctly, selects the correct drug in FWLTC interface and enters proper directions.
- Responsible for printing labels and entering orders in a timely manner.
- Maintains accurate MAR’s and treatment sheets.
- Clarifies orders as needed.
- Documents effectively in correct place.
- Follows procedures to ensure timely reimbursement and accuracy of orders.
- Follows policies and procedures set forth by leadership team.
- Follows operational strategies to reduce cost.
- Communicates effectively with other pharmacy staff and facility nursing.
- Communicates effectively during a complaint or upset nurse/customer.
- Attempts to overcome communication barriers and listens to others with empathy.
- Communicates with pharmacy staff members to ensure timely handling of daily orders.
- Works with other staff to solve problems and create new solutions.
- Accepts feedback and constructive criticism with a positive attitude.
- Understands the phone, fax, and email system.
- Keeps the work area clean and participates in the organization meetings and in-service training sessions.
- Arrives and leaves on time and takes lunch/breaks appropriately.
- Prioritizes daily requirements and uses spare time wisely.
- Assists in finding alternative sources if a drug is not available.
- Assists in efforts to reduce costs related to office supplies, materials, and work flow processes.
- Assists in managing the IV dosing book.
- All other duties assigned by your supervisor.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work off of a computer screen for the majority of the work shift
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with others
- Ability to perform light lifting
