Overview

Under the direct supervision of the EFS Program Manager, the Intake Facilitator is responsible for the opening of the EFS Program Area and the eligibility screening of clients that apply for services. This is a 35 hour/week position - Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with an unpaid half hour lunch.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct the opening and closing procedures of the EFS Program area in a timely manner.

  • Verify all clients identification and documentation in determining eligibility status for program benefits.

  • Inform clients of eligibility status and arrange for client to be seen by a Case Manager.

  • Maintain and update client files.

  • Perform data entry, copying, faxing and filing duties.

  • Effectively address disruptive and verbally abusive clients.

  • Inform supervisor when potentially serious situations are anticipated and follow-up with incident reports as necessary.

  • Complete all necessary electronic and hard copy records, as well as any statistical reports as determined by current procedures.

  • Work with supervisor in monitoring the number of clients seen daily in the program.

  • Responsible for monitoring visitor sign-in sheet and tracking deliveries.

  • Assist with data entry/registration for seasonal events (e.g; Thanksgiving, Christmas, Summer Camp)

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Human Services or two years of college with relevant work experience preferred.

  • Must be proficient working in Windows, and the MS Office suite of applications.

  • Basic communication skills, interpersonal relationship skills and interviewing skills are required.

  • Experience working with vulnerable populations is essential. The ability to work in a continually changing and challenging environment is required.

  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.

  • Reliability is essential.
