This is what we want you to understand about this role:
· You’ll work closely with physicians, nurses, and counselors supporting patient care
· You’ll be the first contact for most people seeking help and supporting them into and throughout treatment
· A list of some of the soft skills needed to be successful in this position: punctual, patient, empathetic, organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, strong communication skills, balance between flexibility and limit setting, and the ability to work with limited supervision
· Being a team player is important to us so be ready to help with anything that is needed, willing to assist others, and act as a resource to staff and patients where appropriate
These are the main responsibilities for this role:
- Greet patients with a positive and professional attitude
- Perform initial screening and assessments of client candidates
- Conduct client intakes and coordinate their care on the first day of treatment
- Enter and manage patient health information in electronic health record
- Answer phones and handle/forward/distribute messages and faxes as needed
- Organize and maintain reception area, lobby, and restrooms in a professional, attractive, manner
- Accept and record payments from clients
- Collect specimen samples from clients, conducting breathalyzer and other tests
- Provide information & referral for crisis information and other services
- Monitor security and ensure staff presence in waiting areas
- Maintain client confidentiality
If the following qualifications fit you, we would like to chat with you:
· Currently registered or certified with an approved Substance Use Disorder certification organization CAADE, CCAPP or CADTP. ASWs and AMFTs also qualify for this role.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Detailed in paperwork and electronic charting. There is a lot of documentation involved in this position and you really need to be able to keep up while maintaining quality
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, solve problems, and handle difficult situations independently
· Ability to provide compassionate, culturally and linguistically appropriate services
· Mobility and ability to bend and reach throughout a workday. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to evaluate, monitor and treat patient needs and maintain accurate records. Fine motor skills for legible and accurate writing and typing of reports, charting, correspondence, and presentations, both manually and orally
· Sufficient endurance to handle a regular workday
· Ability to comply with HAART’s policies and procedures
