Overview:
The Insurance Verification Coordinator contributes to the company by verifying benefits for scheduled patients. The Insurance Verification Coordinator interacts with several schedulers to obtain necessary patient information within several separate physical therapy offices. The Insurance Verification Coordinator also determines the details of the patient's physical therapy benefits to include, co-pays, deductibles, max number of physical therapy visits per year, and prior authorizations needed.
Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

- Performs insurance pre-authorization, verification, and documents information accordingly.
- Verifies all patient eligibility, authorizations, benefits, claim information with insurance companies, and 3rd party payers prior to the patient's initial physical therapy visit.
- Communicates verification information with appropriate personnel for preparation for the patient's initial visit.
- Identifies all patient accounts accurately based on what PPO, HMO, or other Managed Care Organizations the patient’s insurance plan might fall under.
- Contacts physical therapy office with updates on benefit verification information, requests additional information, insurance cards.
- Accurately completes data entry necessary including authorizations and benefits.
- Compiles and collects accurate list of contracted and uncontracted insurances
- Communicates with Central Billing Office as needed to clarify contractual agreements if differing from Insurance Verification.
- Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- MS Office, basic office support skills (telephone, filing, data entry) and basic math skills.
- Excellent telephone etiquette, pleasant personality and customer service skills.
- Previous experience in a similar role (or medical front office setting) desired, but not required.
