Insurance Coordinator

We are looking to add a detail oriented, positive, team player to our office!
The Insurance Coordinator is responsible for assisting patients with the processing of dental insurance claims, and management of relationships between the practice and insurance carriers. The Coordinator will contact insurance companies and patients regarding coverage determinations and outstanding balances and research and resolve insurance billing issues.

Essential Functions:
- Submit all patient insurance claims and follow up as needed.
- Identify and work on rejected claims.
- Verify electronic claims and NEA attachments were transmitted.
- Write and submit narratives to insurance companies.
- Handle requests for additional information from insurance companies.
- Work on the Medical Aging Report.
- Assist in updating the insurance plan database monthly.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment regarding coverage and insurance claims and resolves billing disputes with little supervision.
- Other duties and tasks, as assigned periodically.
Experience and Education:
- Excellent computer skills and ability to use practice software systems.
- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
- Dental or insurance experience preferred
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Sitting 80%
- Standing/walking 20%
- Medical, office, and lab setting.
- Hearing – Must be able to hear telephonic equipment and comfortably communicate with Patients and others by telephone and in person.
- Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) as required for business software, and operating office machines.
