Insurance Agent (Remote)

Overview:

We are seeking an Entreprenurial, self-motivated Insurance Agent to join our Encompass Agency New York (Albany) team. Prior experience working in the insurance industry is required as either an Account Manager or Marketing Representative.

Encompass Agency is one of the largest Insurance Agents in Western New York, ranked #32 by the Buffalo Business Journals (2022). With profitable growth in mind, we are looking to expand our operations into Albany and the surrounding counties. We are independent agents who represent a variety of insurance companies to our clients including Travelers, Hartford, Berkshire-Hathaway and more.

As an Insurance Agent, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, analyzing insurance needs, and recommending appropriate coverage options to clients. This is a great opportunity for individuals with strong sales skills and a passion for helping others.

Experience working with the following Commercial Lines is required:
- Business Owner's Policies / Commercial Packages
- Commercial Auto
- Worker's Compensation & NYS Disability / PFL
- Professional Liability (E&O)

Duties:

- Conduct outside sales activities to generate new leads and expand client base

- Analyze clients' insurance needs and recommend suitable coverage options

- Provide excellent customer service by promptly responding to inquiries and resolving issues

- Educate clients on insurance policies, terms, and coverage details

- Utilize traditional sales and modern social media techniques to reach potential clients and promote insurance products

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and changes in insurance regulations

- Collaborate with underwriters, claims adjusters, and other professionals to ensure client satisfaction

- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and policy details

Requirements:

- Proven experience in insurance sales or Account Manager role

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong ability to analyze information and make informed recommendations

- Ability to work independently and meet sales targets

- Proficient in using computer systems and software applications

- Valid insurance license (NY Required, PA optional)

- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)

Compensation:

This is an hourly W-2 position that requires a daily check-in with our home office in Buffalo. Commission will be provided on all new business sales up to 25% of the written premium.
