    • Must have own transportation to and from jobsite every work day (driver's license not required)
    • May be expected to travel where the project requires (multi-state opportunities)

  

Primary function of an Instrument Foreman:  Supervise and give instruction to 8-15 craft people who may include 1-2 leadmen, per Crowder's standards in safety, quality, productivity and overall project requirements. Give instruction to and assist in the execution of the work per drawings, specifications and details as required by the project documents. Responsible for on-time placement at the work site, of safety items, materials, process equipment, and tools or equipment to perform work. Layout/check layout per dimensions, elevations, location of all work being installed to insure accuracy per the contract documents. Manage, track, and report the utilization of equipment, materials and man hours on a daily/weekly basis and execute the plan within the budget established for the work being performed.

Duties:

  •  Must stress the importance and the expectations of Crowder that "Safety First" is not just a slogan but a requirement for continued employment with the Company.
  • Listen to and follow instructions from superintendent in charge of overall work plan which may include changes to the project schedule sequences, staffing issues, material deliverable issues, change in scope issues etc.
  • Communicate instructions from superintendent to his / her teams.
  • Read, understand and execute work from all drawings and specifications.
  • Layout work per drawings and specifications to facilitate that days work activities.
  • Monitor all work being installed to assure it is meeting the Crowder and project quality standards as specified.
  • Understand and execute work per the 3 week look-ahead schedule and co-ordinate work activities within allocated man hours.
  • Document and communicate accurate labor hours and cost code to his / her direct report superintendent on a daily / weekly basis.
  • Communicate progress, safety and quality issues, delays, material and equipment needs daily to his/her direct report superintendent by using the Foremen Daily Report Form.
  • Assist project manager and / or superintendent in the management of subcontractors.
  • Facilitate, execute, promote and educate on the implementation and usage of the PTP, (Pre Task Plan).
  • Audit the PTP's during the work day and make changes as required.
  • Participate in the pre-mobilization planning of the overall project detailed schedule, site specific safety execution plan, and manpower requirements with the entire construction team (if time and individuals schedule allows).

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

  • OSHA 30 Hour training
  • Proficient in reading / understanding all drawings, specifications and all project requirements.
  • Possess superior skill set and proven record of above average performance in his/her field of expertise.
  • Demonstrate the ability to look ahead to facilitate the planning and execution of work to meet the project schedule and cost requirements.
  • Demonstrate strong listening and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in personal time management.
  • Possess basic computer knowledge in Word, Excel.
  • Minimum of 1 year work experience with Crowder.
  • Documented proof of 5-8 years of journeyman or leadman experience.  
  • Must have valid driver's license to meet Crowder's standards for Driver's Authorization.
