Summary:
Assists the OR staff in the organization and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established Federal, State and accreditation standards and center policies and procedures. Responsible for instrument decontamination, sterile processing, and instrument care and handling and documentation and record keeping related to those activities.

Knowledge: Working knowledge and experience in a hospital central sterile department, operating room, or ambulatory surgery center. Knowledge of instrument names and their care and handling procedures. Sterilization and disinfection
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and repair of medical instruments and equipment
- Inspect instruments for defects, damage, or wear and make necessary repairs or replacements
- Ensure instruments are properly sterilized and maintained according to established protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure instruments are readily available for procedures
- Assist in the inventory management of instruments, including ordering, tracking, and organizing
- Maintain accurate documentation of instrument maintenance and repairs
- Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and best practices in instrument technology
Requirements:
High School diploma or GED. Central sterile or operating room experience preferred. Current BLS
