Instrument Person

We are currently searching for an experienced Instrument Personto support ourSouthwest Region in Texas.

The Instrument Person reports to the Party Chief and is responsible for assisting with field surveying activities, including operation and maintenance of survey equipment. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a desire and willingness to learn land surveying. This is an entry level position that will require some overnight travel and working outside in all weather conditions.

What you’ll be doing:

• Maintaining surveying equipment
• Operating various surveying measuring devices including, but not limited to:
  • differential levels
  • data collectors
  • electronic total stations
  • GPS equipment
• Perform court house research of property deeds, easements and right of way plans
• Develop detailed field survey notes and sketches
• Plus additional responsibilities of a Rod Person

What you need to have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year of surveying is preferred
• Must be physically able to work long hours and carry heavy loads
• Knowledge of standard surveying procedures and applying established surveying techniques preferred
• Possess effective written and oral communication skills
• Basic computer literacy and math skills
• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
• Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential requirements
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather
• Pass a drug screening & background check
• Familiarity with Trimble equipment is preferred
• Safety oriented
