Corin is seeking an Instrument Buyer & Inventory Planner responsible for identifying and executing purchasing requirements to support the demand ahead of the requirement from production. The role is also responsible for recommending and maintaining working inventory levels for component goods and evaluating and recommending strategic inventory investments to secure supply on volatile parts defined as long lead, opportunistic consumption, or market availability.

The key responsibilities of the Instrument Buyer & Inventory Planner
- Evaluate instrument orders, instrument set-down requirements, forecast requirements, and opportunistic consignment opportunities against the available supply.
- Create, assemble, and send quote and purchase order packages including prints, specifications, inspection criteria, and other required documentation.
- Maintain a regular communication cadence with key internal and external suppliers / key deliveries.
- Routinely align with suppliers on open PO lines, quantities, and delivery dates.
- Expedite suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials.
- Report and communicate Instrument inventory availability.
- Devise Instrument refurbishment planning.
- Support Customer Service by communicating expected delivery dates for open customer orders.
- Support Field Operations & Commercial with Consignment Inventory order placement and delivery dates.
- Resolve receiving issues found during receiving and quality inspection.
- Monitor, resolve, and escalate aged purchase order line items.
- Establish and maintain SKU-level planning parameters.
- Collaborate with the Distribution Center Manager about delivery planning.
- Monitor Non-Conforming Material Review (NCMR) documents and close the loop on NCMR dispositions (rework, RTS, scrap
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field of study, OR 5 years of related purchasing experience.
- Previous medical industry experience preferred.
- Experience in using ERP systems and maintaining data point integrity.
- Experience with setting and maintaining planning parameters for MRP.
- Skilled user of Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word & Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skillset with experience in effective cross-team collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships internally and externally.
- Demonstrated problem-solving experience related to supply and demand.
- Self-starter who works with the appropriate level of urgency.
