Jeanne Clery Act
The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act is a federal statute requiring colleges and universities participating in federal financial aid programs to maintain and disclose campus crime statistics and security information. By October 1 of each year, institutions must publish and distribute their Annual Campus Security Policy & Crime Statistics Report (ASR) to current and prospective students and employees. - Supervises residents and medical students in a clinical setting
- Provides performance evaluations, skills testing, and mentoring of residents, fellows and medical students
- Participates in resident and faculty recruitment
- Attends and participates in morbidity-mortality and journal clubs
- Provides patient care in the Emergency Department
- Serves as medical control physician for El Paso EMS while on duty in the Emergency Department
- Engages in scholarship and clinical quality improvement initiatives within the department
- Assists the Department Chair with the implementation of departmental policies and monitoring staffing effectiveness
- Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance such as committee work and Emergency Medicine professional organizations
- Adheres to institutional and departmental safety policies and procedures
- Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with education of residents and medical students
- Evidence or growth in clinical, teaching, and research activities related to the specialty
- Knowledge of medical Spanish
- ACLS/PALS/ATLS certifications
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine for the rank of assistant professor or Higher
- Focused Practice Designation in advanced Emergency Medicine ultrasonography by the American Board of Emergency Medicine
- Regional or emerging national reputation for the rank of associate professor or Higher

Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Successful completion of ACGME-accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine
- Successful completion of advanced Emergency Medicine ultrasonography fellowship training, or experience in Emergency Medicine ultrasonography with evidence of a minimum of 200 reviewed scans
- Valid unrestricted medical license or eligibility for medical license in the State of Texas
