Summary of Position
The Unit Armor Instructor is a full-time, wage determination position directly responsible to the Director, Military Skills Enhancement Program whose overall duties and responsibilities are to teach, update, and maintain the Unit Armorer Course at Fort Hood Troop School and at other Army installations. May be required to conduct special courses or briefings as requested by government contract.
Minimum Required Education
Two years college from a US regionally accredited institution of higher education.
Minimum Required Experience
Five years military service with a minimum of two years' experience as a Senior NCO, Warrant Officer, or Commissioned Officer with experience with a working knowledge in small arms repair, and arms room security.
One year experience as an instructor within the past 10 years prior to employment.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be computer literate with proficiency with Windows.
- Must be proficient with Adobe Acrobat/Reader and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must have understanding of computer and printer networking to include knowledge of basic troubleshooting techniques.
- Working knowledge on the use, maintenance, operation, and repair of small arms to include the M16A2 rifle, M9 Pistol, M60 , M240, M2 machine guns, M203 grenade launcher, M231 SMG, M249 SAW and MK19 GMG.
- Must have experience with Army Key Control with an in depth knowledge of physical security, regulatory requirements, and operational management of an Arms Room.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation or National Agency Check (NAC) in order to fulfill contractual obligations.
