Position Title:Instructional Technology Specialist
Reports To: Director of Instructional Technology & Information Services
Primary Function:
Primary Function- The position provides leadership and 21st Century technology integration and training aligned to the Georgia Standards of Excellence and International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards that will directly affect instruction and improve student achievement. Collaborates with various district and school based teams as needed to gain district buy-in for all technology integration projects and resources.
Requirements:
Educational Level: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
Certification/License Required: T-4 Teaching Certificate
Physical Activities: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.
Proficient Skills: Written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, word processing, database, spreadsheet and desktop publishing skills, web page design skills, and demonstrated knowledge of internet research and available resources.

3. Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the use of other computer applications as applicable to job responsibilities.
4. Demonstrates appropriate verbal, written and telephone communication skills.
5. Acts in a professional manner and maintains a professional attitude towards the public and colleagues; adheres to cultural diversity guidelines, and exhibits the fundamentals of good public/customer service.
6. Complies with school, system, state and federal regulations and policies, including the PSC Code of Ethics, as related to job requirements.
7. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and material; adheres to chain of command.
8. Maintains a professional appearance as appropriate for job responsibilities.
9. Maintains and improves knowledge and skills to promote proficiency in the operations of an organized, modern, updated and efficient office.
10. Provides direction in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive Instructional Technology program.
11. Reviews and researches 21st Century technology standards and integrates cutting edge technologies, differentiated learning strategies and methodologies into digital content delivery.
12. Provides ad hoc support and training for the Student Information System (SIS).
13. Provides guidance to support curriculum initiatives in the selection of instructional software and hardware to support instructional goals.
14. Works closely with Professional Learning to offer educational resources for schools.
15. Develops capacity for extending teaching and learning beyond the traditional school day using current technologies.
16. Assesses the impact of Instructional Technology within the curriculum, reviews and evaluates the results, and recommends appropriate modification to ensure efforts are having a positive effect on student achievement.
17. Organizes and publishes digital resources and activities monthly for teachers, students, and parents.
18. Coordinates (with Network Services department and Media Specialists) the implementation of a Digital Citizenship education plan for all schools as mandated by e-Rate.
19. Serves as the liaison between the schools and the district office.
20. Maintains an active and productive relationship with the Georgia Department of Education and the Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA).
21. Attends professional conferences and training classes in Instructional Technology.
22. Ongoing curation of technology tools for teaching and learning purposes.
23. Monitoring the annual compilation of technology equipment for the State Technology Inventory submission.
