Position Description
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Mississippi, located in Oxford, Mississippi, invites applicants for a full-time, 12-month, promotion-eligible Instructional Faculty position to begin in June 2024. Teaching responsibilities will be commensurate with the candidate's background and experience, but may include general chemistry, organic chemistry, or possibly upper-level courses such as analytical, environmental, and physical chemistry. The successful candidate will have significant duties as a chemistry laboratory manager at the new Duff Center for Science and Technology, a $175M state-of-the-art STEM education facility to open summer 2024. Additional duties include academic advising of undergraduate chemistry majors, participating in recruiting and outreach events, and providing departmental service. We are seeking applicants with a passion to provide outstanding instruction in chemistry, enthusiasm for innovative chemical education, and commitment to promoting an inclusive, diverse, and supportive environment. Applicants must hold a Ph.D., or a Master's degree with at least 2 years' experience, in Chemistry, Chemical Education, or related field and demonstrate a history of excellence in teaching.

Position Details

Assignment Type: Non-Tenure Track
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Ph.D., or a Master's degree with at least 2 years' experience, in Chemistry, Chemical Education, or related field and demonstrate a history of excellence in teaching.
