Job Summary
The incumbent assists faculty in developing/redesign of online courses, creating learning products, such as video tutorials, instructional media, learning simulations, exams, and assessments.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of instructional theory, including assessment
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Software
  • Audio and video editing skills
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Good critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency with Learning Management Systems
  • Understanding of web design best practices
  • Experience with design platforms, such as InDesign
  • Familiarity with course management systems such as Canvas
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, written, and interpersonal
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines


Essential Job Functions
  • Trains faculty and students on how to use learning technologies
  • Assists in transforming face-to-face courses to an online format
  • Analyzes, updates, and refines current online content
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts to design online course content
  • Assists in editing online learning materials
  • Assists in creating student-engaged learning experiences and environments
  • Assists in designing learning activities, assignments, and assessments
  • Research innovative technologies and review current courses to determine the best ways to optimize the learning process
  • Tracks the progress of course designs
  • Keeps current on best practices in instructional design
  • Writes scripts for video and audio content
  • Works with technical staff to troubleshoot problems

Qualifications
Master’s degree in instructional design, technology, educational design, or a related field, such as communication
