Job Title Institutional Work Study Student Job - Gallery Attendant Position Purpose The purpose of the Gallery Attendant position is to keep the gallery open for visitors during advertised hours. The student will assist with installation and takedown of exhibitions.
Essential Duties Summary Support Gallery Director & Preparator
Keeps gallery open during advertised hours.
Greets visitors and answers questions.
Provides administrative support as needed.
Assist with installation and take-down of exhibitions.
Assist with basic gallery maintenance (painting/patching walls, setting lights, etc)
Assist with set-up/takedown of events.
As needed with event promotion (this could include setting up flyers, or for those interested design flyers and digital PR)

Reliability is EXTREMELY important.
Art knowledge helpful but not necessary. Ability to do modest lifting (chairs, paintings, ceramic vessels, etc) helpful.

Experience as Gallery Attendant level 1 is helpful, but not necessary.
