Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Institutional Research Specialist position in the Office of Planning and Institutional Research.
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree is required, with 4 years of experience in Institutional Research or relevant areas; knowledge of advanced statistics, experience in predictive modeling; knowledge of statistical software (SPSS, R, SAS), and knowledge of SQL or python.
Preferred qualifications:
Advanced degree in Data Science or related field. high level of Excel, SQL, or python; ability to build reports, and interactive charts/graphs using tools such as Tableau (Power BI); professional experience with Banner; ability to work independently and collaborate with others, and to meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment; excellent analytical skills and detail oriented; be committed to data integrity, confidentiality and student success.

- Perform data analysis and facilitate the long-range planning and program assessment processes of the University.
- Design and implement predictive data models to facilitate data-driven decision making in areas such as admission, financial aid, student retention and course scheduling.
- Lead and engage in both quantitative and qualitative research including surveys and share the findings with relevant stakeholders.
- Queries, analyzes, interprets, and reports data in response to internal and external requests and initiatives.
- Submits reports on a timely basis to maintains compliance with federal, state, system and NECHE accreditation reporting requirements.
- Create, maintain and document statistical and reporting software programs and develops web-based data collection and reporting mechanisms to support the institution's strategic planning and program reviews.
