Job Description
A general job description of the daily activities and/or job tasks the position may require would include, but not be limited to, one or more of the following:
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining security systems, including alarms, surveillance cameras, Access Control, and more.
- Anchoring/mounting of equipment to various surfaces (Electrical, mounting pads, interior/exterior walls, doors, pole mounts, etc.), mounting cameras, network switches, antennas and low voltage wiring and sealant into electrical enclosures.
- Pickup, deliver, and unload equipment to jobsite.
- Making basic low voltage connections working with RS232/485, Twisted Pair, Cat5e, etc.
- Configure software & hardware, and provide support, and training as needed.
- Troubleshoot and repair security systems / equipment as needed.
- Train customers on basic operations of deployed systems.
- Coordinate and communicate with the customer, sales team, and other contractors to efficiently complete projects on time and on budget.
- Assist customers on site with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Responsible for the installation project plan provided including equipment delivery, material procurement, installation, trouble shooting and commissioning to successfully complete projects while exceeding the customer's expectations.
- Review and understand the contractual scope of work by reading and interpreting the contract, blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, and operational product manuals.
- Identify out of scope requests by the contractor or customer and notify sales and management of pending changes.
- Track schedule of values for the projects assigned and provide monthly billing for each project.
- Complete all appropriate company paperwork as required.
- Assist other functions of the department/company as needed.
- Comply with safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
Basic qualifications include.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications preferred.
- CAT 1: Certified Alarm Technician / AESBL Installer – Can be obtained upon start of employment.
- Previous training and experience working with basic electricity, low voltage, and modern security devices, i.e., CCTV, Access Control, alarm systems etc.
- Strong technical skills and understanding of security systems and networking.
- Ability to read and understand building schematics.
- Clean driving record, no criminal record and drug free.
- Independent worker who can take initiative when needed.
- A quick learning ability, and ability to find technical answers/solutions independently.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining security systems, including alarms, surveillance cameras, Access Control, and more.
- Good customer service & interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Flexible schedule to allow for a rotating “on call” shift for after-hours emergency service calls.
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills. Proven experience as a Security Systems Technician with a track record of successful installations and maintenance.

Certification/License: CAT 1: Certified Alarm Technician / AESBL Installer – * Preferred but not required as it can be obtained upon start of employment.
2+years experience is preferred.
