***$3,000 Sign-on Bonus for external candidates***

Inspector I is an entry level position. The purpose for an inspector at this level is to gain a basic understanding of inspection processes. Inspectors must obtain a basic level knowledge in order to inspect product incoming from suppliers, in-process, or final inspection for conformity to ensure the quality and integrity of the material and assemblies are produced to meet drawing specifications, tolerances, corporate procedures and customer requirements. Inspector I performs work with immediate supervision by a more senior inspector (level II or above).

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Learn how to coordinate and manage shipment of final product.
  • Learn how to prepare to inspect by interpreting blueprints, data, and manuals to determine specifications, inspections and testing procedures.
  • Review paperwork to ensure completion and accuracy of all documents including routers, flow card, First Articles, etc. with oversight
  • Learn how to inspect product to verify conformance to specification of the parts by measuring dimensions using instruments such as gages, calipers, comparators micrometers, etc.
  • Learn how to oversee customer requirements audit system.
  • Support and follow all rules/guidelines/standards set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions as set by your leader and position.
  • Working extended shifts/overtime as required by the business
  • Some Holiday hours may be required based on business need

Qualifications/Experience Needed: 

  • HS Diploma. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Manufacturing background
  • Inspection background
  • Basic shop math including knowledge of geometry and algebra
  • Basic experience with detailed drawings including geometric tolerances, dimensions, general features and blueprint reading
  • General computer skills (E-mail, internet, basic MS office including excel)
  • Ability to learn how to utilize gaging including attribute and variable gages
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Basic knowledge of the Quality Management System.
  • Basic manufacturing knowledge including the techniques, tools, and principles and processes involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management
