This employee is responsible for supervision of the energy auditors and senior energy auditors. This person will also oversee the energy auditor's equipment and vehicle inventory and maintenance, including requesting and scheduling service and repairs. This position reports to the WX Production Supervisor to track project progress within the different programs.
This position may also serve to assist with inspections as needed to meet program goals. Thus, this position may also carry out several aspects of the energy auditor position including, but not limited to, conducting a final inspection certifying that the work to be accomplished by the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission Energy and Air Quality Department as stated on the initial report from the initial energy auditor's inspection of the participating property has been completed. This employee inspects final work performed by contractors for completeness and certifies that work has been performed to MORPC and industry standards. This employee may also write additional work orders for items found that may need to be addressed after the final inspection. This position may also conduct initial inspections and write original work orders for projects when required.
This position will serve as the first point of contact for client issues, as well as contractor issues. This position will work with and provide technical support to the lead field tech position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises all energy auditor staff.
Ensures that inspection staff and contractors are following all required safety protocols.
Performs all energy auditor yearly evaluations.
This person will also be in charge of the energy auditors' equipment, vehicle inventory and maintenance, including requesting and scheduling service and repairs. They must coordinate these requests with their staff to efforts with the WX Production Supervisor to track project progress within the different programs.
Will perform both energy auditor and senior energy auditor staff duties as needed.
Performs initial and final energy audits, and processes collected data through multiple program software systems to create detailed work orders.
Creates digital case files, uploads digital photographs, work orders and other supporting
documentation for individual clients.
Performs final audits to ensure work ordered by initial energy auditors has been completed by contractors, complies with comprehensive requirements/testing, to all funder's specifications, safety and quality standards as well, as established agency policies and departmental procedures. Documents and approves completion of work.
Collects, documents and files data as required. Upon completion of the final energy audit,
they may be required to create and enter data on work orders for additional work that may be needed as a result of new circumstance or items that were omitted from the initial auditor's report,
Oversees scheduling and report response for federal, state and utility technical monitoring visits.
Updates client digital files with supporting documentation as required, which may contain digital photographs, additional work orders, call back documentation and other supporting documentation.
Meets with clients, contractors, and initial auditors on site to address and resolve issues.
Establishes deadlines for completion of issues and creates work orders where necessary.
Inspects program eligible homes including but not limited to exterior, interior, attics, and
crawl spaces if required.
Completes evaluations as required staff reviews and yearly.
Mentors the inspection staff on all their procedures.
Other duties as directed.
REQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Currently certified as an energy auditor by completing all required coursework issued by the State of Ohio through the U.S. Department of Energy
Currently certified as a Quality Control Inspector/Energy Auditor (QCI micro-certification) by
the Building Performance Institute, Inc. (BPI)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Six (6) months experience as a licensed certified energy auditor and senior energy auditor or equivalent.
Three (3) years' experience in a residential construction or home inspection, or HVAC related
field
Present satisfactory driving record before employment
Maintain driving privileges licensed by jurisdictional State throughout employment.
Drive MORPC owned or leased vehicles
Obtains and maintains all required certifications and completes continuing education courses, as mandated by this position.
MUST POSSESS:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent customer relations skills
Proficient computer software skills in Microsoft Office products
ABILITY TO:
Lift 50 lbs. on a daily basis
Carry and climb a ladder.
Use power tools carefully and correctly.
