Job Duties
Other details - Develops established customer base and relationships with core customers.
- Prices most orders independent of management.
- Builds extensive vendor and internal network.
- Plans territory/account approach and may provide input into colleagues' approaches; manages own resources.
- Mentors and trains new team members.
- Assists in creating account development plans.
- Performs inventory management for customer specific material.
- Communicates with operations team and may serve as a production meeting representative.
- Regular face-to-face customer interaction and broad authority/opportunity to set and negotiate product/service terms.
- Works with very little management assistance.
- Serves as a mentor/trainer to other CX team members.
- Able to make some decisions for others in the absence of the Inside Sales manager.
- Supports the development of new and innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Expected to solve problems that are difficult and sometimes complex. Is a known problem solver.
- Prioritizes concurrent customers' demands and provides satisfactory service to all.
- Assertively solicits new business.
- May function as key customer contact.
- Extensive product and market knowledge.
- Thorough knowledge of Ryerson processes and products.
- Takes initiative- willing to make mistakes, learn and embrace/lead change.
- Strategic thinker; confident in ability to perform job well.
- Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected with advance notice.
