The primary purpose of this Inside Sales Representative position is to assist customers, sales managers and agents within all aspects of the sales process for products manufactured and supplied by AFL into various markets. The incumbent will be involved in all phases of the sales process.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to requests for quotes or market leads.
  • Follow up on quotations and market leads to help increase revenue for AFL.
  • Manage customer purchase orders through the order process to ensure delivery and shipment.
  • Manage customer’s open orders by providing ongoing, proactive communication regarding the status to customers.
  • Maintain files for quotations, purchase orders, and sales order acknowledgments.
  • Utilize reports daily for product stock and availability, lead times and order status.
  • Process material for return requests including gathering all pertinent data for the RMA submittal
  • Monitor customer activity and to ensure overall health of account including ongoing customer calls and engagements.
  • Work with the Inside Sales team supporting workload, when needed and provide out-of-office back up.
  • Submit and manage customer complaints and claim settlement for assigned customers including communication with sales and business unit resources.
  • Participate in the overall customer satisfaction in terms of the overall customer experience with AFL.
  • Work with sales to identify strategies to promote and upsell additional AFL products to gain additional revenue growth potential, including recommending product add alternates.
  • Work with sales and marketing to promote AFL products to assigned customers.
  • Participate in all product promotions and spiff campaigns.
  • Develop intermediate level AFL product knowledge and familiarity with AFL part numbering systems.
  • Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred. Business or Technical degree or significant experience demonstrating commercial/technical aptitude.
  • Experience in customer service, Inside Sales or dealing with customers in a business-to-business setting preferred
  • Must be proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, & Outlook. Oracle and Sales Force experience a plus.
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Import/Export experience a plus
  • Candidate will be growth oriented with the desire and flexibility to grow into positions such as outside sales, product management, or other commercially oriented roles  
  • Must be able to gain a comprehensive understanding of customer goals, problems, and needs as to clearly define and effectively communicate relevant AFL products.
  • Understands the details of the product suite being sold and results reflect a comprehensive understanding of and demonstrated ability to sell. Develops recommendations for and identifies opportunities for revenue growth

Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment. Hybrid Office Schedule
  • General hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Occasional weekend or longer hours during busy time.
  • Some minimal travel may be required
