Job Title: Inside Sales Representative
Job Status: Full-time, Salary, Non-exempt
Reports To: Branch Manager (directly) and VP of Sales (in-directly)
Summary:The role of an Inside Sales Representative is to work with customers to ensure a smooth sales process. This would include selling products to business and industrial establishments, contractors, or individuals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partner with outside sales professionals to strengthen relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Field inbound calls and emails from existing and potential customers qualify sales opportunities of products and services.
- Work with outside sales, vendors and customers to quote bills of material.
- Prepare sales orders while working with the warehouse, other branches and vendors to coordinate delivery.
- Estimate delivery of material based on knowledge of company’s delivery schedule.
- Resolve customer order problems and complaints promptly.
- Report industry trends, competitive pricing and customer feedback to outside sales and management.
- Grow personal and customer understanding of products and services via various forms of vendor training, demonstrations and peer knowledge of features and benefits.
- Overcome technical and business objections from customers.
- Suggest the addition of products to inventory based on customer requests and vendor demonstrations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university.
- One to two years related experience and/or training.
- Or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Qualifications:
- Strong computer skills including MS Office and inventory software/databases; experience with Epicor Eclipse a plus;
- Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills;
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills – with vendors, customers, managers, co-workers and subordinates;
- Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense or urgency, drive and energy.
Physical Requirements:
- The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, use hands to grasp/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk.
- The Inside Sales personnel may frequently lift and/or move material in the warehouse.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
- Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions.
