DESCRIPTION:

• Adult (Inpatient)
• 40 Hours a week
• Census: Up to 26 patients.
• Monday - Friday
  • 8:00am - 4:30pm
• 1-year minimum experience, post residency/training.
• There are no off-hours call but the Inpatient Psychiatrist will share in the rotation of psychiatric code beeper daytime coverage several times per month.
• Occasional cross-coverage needs.
• The Inpatient Psychiatrist will need to perform evaluations for mental hygiene court retentions and treatment over objection, as clinically indicated, and testify in court as needed.
• There are infrequent evaluations of privilege levels as part of a hospital forensic committee for patients committed under insanity statutes.
• Extended leaves will not be permitted during this assignment.
  • Shorter leaves (e.g., one week or less) may be considered on an infrequent basis following appropriately made request of supervision, establishing coverage, and is subject to approval by the facility.

REQUIRED:

• NY state license; active, unrestricted
• Board Certified/Board Eligible within 2-yrs of residency/training.

COMPENSATION:

• Competitive Market Rate (rate based on availability, experience, certifications, housing, and transportation needs, etc.)
• Malpractice insurance provided.
• Extended leave will not be permitted during this assignment. Shorter leaves (e.g., one week or less) may be considered.
